Post Prom and Graduate Safe Season!

"For the past 24 years, I've been entertaining audiences at post proms and graduate safe events all over the Midwest with my professional comedy hypnosis mentalism routine. But what many may not know is the rich history of hypnosis as entertainment, especially in the realm of high schools and colleges.

The history of hypnosis as a form of entertainment can be traced back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries, with performances by mesmerists and hypnotists in Europe and the United States. These early shows often featured demonstrations of hypnotic suggestion and mind control, with participants performing tasks or behaving in ways they would not normally do while in a waking state.

One of the most famous early hypnotists was Franz Anton Mesmer, an Austrian physician who developed the theory of "animal magnetism" and used hypnotic techniques in his practice. He became a sensation in Paris in the 1780s, with his performances drawing large crowds and even attracting the attention of King Louis XVI.

In the United States, the use of hypnosis as entertainment became popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the rise of traveling medicine shows and vaudeville acts. One of the most famous early American hypnotists was Milton Erickson, who began his career as a stage hypnotist before becoming a renowned psychiatrist and psychotherapist.

As for me, The Amazing Arthur Fratelli, I continue to bring the tradition of hypnosis as entertainment to Midwest high schools and colleges. With my unique blend of comedy and mentalism, I leave audiences in stitches while also educating them on the power of hypnosis.
